Women in Engineering at ECU

Women in Engineering at Edith Cowan University (WIE@ECU) is a student run group for the support and development of female students in nontraditional fields of study science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM).

WiE@ECU provides a platform to develop and practice leadership skills while liaising with industry and institutes to build essential networks. This is achieved through event facilitation, industry networking and also, the ‘Budding Engineers Female2Female Buddy program’ initiative.

Women in Engineering at ECU were out in force last night. Supporting their president who was a guest speaker at the Annual Women in Gold Sundowner : Great Debate.

The spotlight was on gender inequality in the mining industry. The arguments and ideas spoken were valid for every male dominated workplace women are still faced with today.
